I will fight to return control to local communities and educators. I will also work to secure funding for our schools. I want to ensure our schools are properly equipped and have the resources available to educate our children effectively. Preparing our children for the future will always be one of my top priorities.”
Local Control & States’ Rights

“The government closest to the people is the most effective form of government. I will work to return local control to our counties, cities, and communities. A government located in Washington D.C. does not know the issues southern Utah is facing as well as local leaders. I will continue to fight against government intrusion in our lives and its expansion in our state. I will resist programs that threaten the sovereignty of the state and local governments.”
Fiscal Responsibility

“I agree with the Republican platform: taxation should be as equitable, simple and minimal as possible. I support better utilization of all collected tax revenue and searching for ways to efficiently utilize current revenue. We need to ensure we maximize the usage of our tax dollars before implementing new taxes. I will fight to keep the tax burden low for our citizens.”
Public Lands
Don’s Pledge on Public Lands
“I enjoy the usage of our public lands and will fight to protect them. However, these lands rightfully belong to the citizens of Utah. I want to return the control of these lands to local communities. We should empower those close to this land with proper resources to conserve these lands. We should also responsibly utilize these lands to minimize the tax burden on Utahns and help improve education funding.”
Supporting Law Enforcement

“In the Utah Senate, I have stood with and supported our law enforcement. I have worked to ensure they are properly supported, funded, and protected. I have passed legislation to protect against their personal information being shared on the internet and social media. I stand with our law enforcement and will continue to support them.”
