Secured funding and approval to purchase land, in partnership with St. George city, for Dixie Applied Technology College and additional funds for building construction.
Supported appropriation for Dixie State University and University of Utah joint project with intermountain Healthcare to begin a physician assistant school in St. George.
Sponsored legislation to transition Dixie State to university status and secured on-going funds to support that continued transition.
Worked to provide nearly $1 billion in new, additional funds to Public Education in Utah over the past 2 legislative sessions.
Supported major road construction projects for Southern Parkway, Dixie Drive interchange, and St. George BLVD interchange.
Sponsored legislation to establish Southern Utah Veterans Home in Washington County.
As Vice-Chair of the Executive Appropriations Committee, Don Ipson makes certain southern Utah gets strong representation at the Utah Legislature, while ensuring our state budget is balanced and fiscally responsible. Utah was named #1 best in the nation in fiscal stability and #1 best state overall by U.S. News and World Report in 2023.
